Privacy and cookies

BoatsDesk, managed by Sem Teuwsen, provides a private yacht management portal. For questions or privacy requests, contact beheer@boatsdesk.nl. The company using BoatsDesk decides which yacht records and related personal data it enters. You can also contact your company administrator about those records.

Data and purposes

We process account details (such as name, email address, role and sign-in sessions), company contact details, yacht records, uploaded files, generated brochures, translation tasks and security and administrative logs. We use these data to provide access to the portal, manage records and documents, generate brochures, translate text when requested, protect accounts and respond to support requests. Account and service processing is necessary to provide the service and protect it; the participating company is responsible for the lawful basis for the personal data it enters in yacht records.

Who receives data

Authorized users of your company can access its records according to their role. Service providers used for hosting and email may process data to operate BoatsDesk. When a user requests translation, the selected text is sent to the configured translation service. If an external translation service is configured, this may involve a separate provider and transfer outside the European Economic Area; ask us which provider is currently configured before entering sensitive text. Publication channels receive data only when a real integration is enabled and a user chooses to publish.

Retention and security

Account and yacht data are kept for at most one year after the BoatsDesk contract ends, unless the customer requests earlier deletion. Backups are kept for at most one year. Access is restricted by account role and company. Sessions expire automatically. Uploaded files are encrypted in the production storage configuration. No security measure eliminates all risk.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, or object to processing where applicable. Contact beheer@boatsdesk.nl; for data entered by your company, you may also contact its administrator. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Cookies and local storage

BoatsDesk uses essential sign-in and security cookies to keep accounts working and secure. It stores your selected portal language in your browser's local storage. These are functional preferences; we do not use advertising or tracking cookies in the portal. If that changes, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated before optional cookies are used.
